Bicycling in the wine country. Cloverdale has three great loops through wine country.

Hot Air Ballooning. The skies above Sonoma County are often speckled with hot-air balloons of every size, color, and design. The wide, flat valley with its moderate and (somewhat) predictable winds makes hot-air ballooning a favorite activity in the area.

Lake Sonoma. Located in the beautiful coastal foothills of Northern California is Lake Sonoma. Lake Sonoma is surrounded by Sonoma County vineyards and land rich in history. This provides the perfect setting for a wealth of recreation activities.

Wine Touring

Wineries in the Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Russian River Valley appellations of Northwest Sonoma County stretch form Cloverdale to Santa Rosa. Northwest Sonoma County encompasses beautiful coastal and grape growing areas, from Guerneville, Sebastopol, and Forestville to the west, to Healdsburg, Geyserville and north to Cloverdale. The area is full of history; Northwest Sonoma County is one of the oldest viticulture areas in California.
